IJS is working to protect our employees and customers by implementing Cal/OSHA safety standards designed to eliminate accidents and injuries in the work place.
Annual research indicates that six out of every 100 professional janitors are injured by chemicals, usually resulting in burns to the eyes and skin, or the inhalation of toxic fumes. IJS custodians and supervisors have undergone extensive safety education to avoid accidents at all costs. During this training, the following topics are addressed:

A company orientation including our history, our core values and the services we provide
A review of the importance of cleaning including the positive effect cleaning has on public health as well as on the quality of life everyone enjoys
A review of the employee handbook, including all company policies and procedures
The principals and theories of cleaning
Classroom training through interactive videos, CDs or DVDs, pictures, workbooks, computer training, hands-on exercises, and demonstration training
